The article is devoted to the combinations verb – verb in the language of cinema. In these combinations, the connections between the parts with grammatical meanings are not so diverse. To summarize, we can say that the role of compound gerunds in the language of cinema is the same as the role of the first parts of compound gerunds.
The article notes that the role of verb conjugation in the language of cinema in speech is to clarify the action expressed by another verb. The grammatical meaning of conjunctions of verbs is also due to their syntactic role.
In addition, it is said that in terms of meaning, the primary role falls on the first part rather than the second, and the first part plays a guiding role. Therefore, when the arrangement of verbs changes, the overall meaning and the difference in the shade of the direction of movement change.
One of the main points made in the article is that these combinations are not essentially based on a one-way relationship based on the subordination of the first party to the other party, but on a bilateral relationship.
According to research, there is a temporary connection between the parts of all component gerunds. A temporary connection unites them, but does not identify them. Firstly, as you can see, they differ in the shape of the first parts. On the other hand, the variety of forms of compound gerunds is due to temporal connections, which make a certain difference in their temporal combination.
The article quite widely uses literary scripts of feature films, and provides various excerpts as examples.
