Abstract

The translation is the essential means of communication in a wide geographical area, between countries and peoples, as well as between the past and the present, as the most important means of providing access to science and knowledge worldwide. Translation process is not only a purely linguistic activity of replacing one text with another, but also various types of cultural transfers and assimilation by its nature. Translation is a phenomenon that arose from the demand. It is rooted in ancient history, developed, improved and kept relevant at all times in connection with the appearance of the languages of the peoples of the world.

The translation of the “dark” pages, manuscripts, and sources of the centuries is of great significance in terms of studying the daily life, culture, traditions, and treasure of vocabulary of each nation from the historical aspect. At the same time, we can acquire new knowledge through translations.

The article studies the ancient history of translation, the process of development and organization of the translation process in Azerbaijan, as well as the importance of the art of translation at a time when the integration processes in the world are accompanied by extensive information exchange.
