The conception of tradition in modern scientific literature

Abstract

The problem of tradition was at all times one of main questions of art science. Such problems as “tradition and innovation”, “tradition and contemporaneity”, “tradition and canon” often became the subject of discussions; these questions were time and again put forward as a basic problem, discussed in International symposiums and congresses. At the same time general theory of tradition the significance of which especially grows today, in the period of the world globalization has not enough been worked out. The survey of the interpretation of the term “tradition” in modern science is given in the article.
