The investigation of the development of town-planning and architecture of Azerbaijan of the XIX-XX cc. in Shamil Fatullayev-Fiqarov’s creation

Abstract

The article is dedicated to results of academician Sh. Fatullayev-Figarov’s researches of the town-planning and architecture of Azerbaijan of the XIX-XX cc. According to his information in the second half of the XIX century socioeconomic situation of small and middle towns of Azerbaijan was satisfactory. In the article there is given information about the investigation of general plans of such towns as Shaki, Shusha, Lankaran, Guba, Hajykand and others as well as about the study of religious and civil buildings by the scientist. Sh. Fatullayev himself carried out measures of a series of Azerbaijan monuments and worked out projects of their restoration. Investigating profoundly the period of the XIXXX cc. Sh. Fatullayev opened a new page in the study of history of architecture.
