Abstract

Monuments of runic script contain the most ancient turkish­speaking texts. Etimological researches of their lexics give unusual oharacteristics for nomadistics: notions of military work go back not to cavalry but to infantry armed with lances. Terms connected with settlements and architecture indicate to the work with clay and permanent wattle and daub constructions. Meanwhile there appears a settled life which existed probably earlier than the domestication of the horse.
