Artist and time: Tahir Salahov

Abstract

Famous Azerbaijani artist, our modern Tahir Salahov’s creation is analysed in the paper. He is a creator of the “hard-edge style” - novelty of Soviet period, at the same time is one of the artists, who have given new concept of realism. The master’s individual style, which was example and model in all Soviet Union, is mentioned in the paper. Especially, the artist’s new creative period, which began in 90s, is emphasized. For the irst time the idea is put forward that, Salahov’s Absheron views were his creative laboratory. Especially thanks to them, the searches of artist have continued in other genres and he has given new trends, contributions to Azerbaijani art.
