Zemira Safarova – the first academician in the history of Azerbaijani musicology

Abstract

Zemira Safarova’smultifaceted activity as a scientist-researcher, music critic, publicist, educator, propagandist, pedagogue, organizer is a whole stage in the history of modern Azerbaijan musical science. Her searches were aimed at studying unexplored pages of the history of Azerbaijani music; It laid the foundations of source studies in national musicology. Z.Safarova’s range of scientiic interests includes music of oral tradition and problems, composer’s creativity, questions of history, theory, music aesthetics. Her activitylong agocrossed the borders of our homeland; It represented the musical science of Azerbaijan at the highest level on an international scale.
