Azerbaijan carpet: symbolics and contemporary

Abstract

In the article the basic information codes of the Azerbaijan carpet connected with the eight and the eightpointed star, Tangry cross, Runic elements are revealed and explained. In a wide culturological context the code of 481632 is considered. Its relation with Suism, Tangry, Taoism and other. In this article is considered the carpet art of the artist Faig Ahmed. There is considered the role of the transformation and deformation of the forms in his creation. The artist’s works are researched in context of postmodernism, neovanguard and traditionalism.
