The subject of China in the creation of Azerbaijan artists

Abstract

At the same time a series of works devoted to European, African and Arabic countries the theme of China and Far East occupies an important place in the ine arts of Azerbaijan. Nadir Gassymov’s (1928-2000) picturesque series, Nadir Abdurrahmanov’s (1925-2008) graphic series and Tair Salahov’s series dedicated to the theme of China are considered in the article. Landscape and portrait compositions from these series are considered, peculiarities of their igurative language are analysed. The role of exhibition activity in the development of artistic interrelations between Azerbaijan and China is dealt with.
