Abstract

The article examines the emergence of Timurid portal-dome architecture in the style of steppe Turanian architecture. However, in literature it is called Arab, Muslim, Iranian, etc., although Timur called himself the ruler of Turan. In the history of Muslim architecture, the Timurid period is an important stage. In Iran, there are currently many portal-dome structures with minarets of the Timur era. The similarity of urban planning principles in the organization of squares in the residences of Shah Abbas in Isfahan and Timur in Samarkand emphasizes the close connection between the architectural schools of Iran and Turan.
