The color green, which is chosen as a symbol of positivity, is characterized as a symbol of nature, youth, innovation, harmony, happiness, and religious belief (heaven). In the early beliefs of the Turks, the colors green and blue symbolized the sky, were used to represent the east, and were also depicted as symbols of nature. In Azerbaijani folk literature, the image of Khidr Nabi (Khidr Ilyas) is presented as a product of Turkish thought, a holy spirit in green clothes, «the protector of water, wind, and air.»In our oral folklore, especially in our fairy tales, legends, and epics, this color has been given various concepts, but most importantly, it has been identified as an indicator of life, spiritual renewal, miraculous powers, nature, and fertility.
