Muhammad Amin Rasulzadeh and the national press

Abstract

Most of our intellectuals who lived and created at the beginning of the 20th century wrote history by protecting the cultural wealth and moral values of our people with both their political and literary activities. Muhammad Amin Rasulzadeh, the founder of the Republic of Azerbaijan, fulfilled this duty with his literary-intellectual outlook, cultural-political knowledge.
The brighter the personality of Muhammad Amin Rasulzade appears in the glorious pages of the history of Azerbaijan's independence, the more important is the services rendered by this great man in the development of our national press. M.A. Rasulzade was not only a political figure, a Mujahideen who showed the path of progress of his country and nation and walked tirelessly on this path. He was also an intellectual, writer, journalist and editor in the best sense of the word, who directed the Azerbaijani society in the right direction with his socio-political articles. During his political activity, he also fought for freedom of speech and press. M.A. Rasulzadeh, who was constantly persecuted, expressed his serious objection to the censorship of the press during the Tsarist Russia. The article reflects the services rendered by this great historical figure in the development of our national-democratic press, the newspapers he edited in different years, and the public political views he put forward as a literary critic-publicist.
