The influence of Habibi's work on Fuzuli's poetry

Abstract

Habibi, who lived in the late XV-early XVI century, occupies an important place in the history of Azerbaijani poetry due to his original artistic and stylistic features. The poems of Habibi, who wrote his works in his native Azerbaijani language in a clear style, touched on topics such as Hurufism and Sufism. However, the Habibi divan has not survived to our times. Of his literary heritage, only up to 50 poems are known (odes, ghazals, musaddy, tohid, etc.). In his poems, he praised human dignity, spiritual beauty and love. Motives related to Hurufism have found their place in Habibi's poems. He wrote philosophical poems on the themes of love and Sufism with clear and vivid metaphors. Habibi's work had a strong influence on Azerbaijani poetry, on the work of Fuzuli and others, on Turkic poetry in general. In the language of his poems, which is close to the vernacular manner of expression, complex Arabic and Persian compositions are somewhat scarce. Fuzuli, who had shown an interest in poetry since childhood, received his first poetic inspiration from Habibi.
Habibi wrote his works in his native Azerbaijani language. And in the following years he taught poets, including Fuzuli. It was from Habibi that Fuzuli received his first poetic inspiration. Fuzuli Habibi wrote nasirs based on his poems.
Fuzuli's poetic legacy is priceless. Influenced by the works of Muhammad Fuzuli, the Azerbaijani people have achieved great success in the development of their culture over the centuries and especially in the 20th century.
