    Abstract

The article is devoted to the study of the lexico-semantic characteristics of kinship terms used in the Ayrim dialect of the Azerbaijani language. In this study, kinship-related words were selected and analyzed based on dialect materials collected from the Ayrim dialect. Taking into account the expressive and semantic potential of these words, they have been systematized into three groups. Words belonging to each group are presented separately, highlighting their functionality and lexico-semantic peculiarities.
The existing analysis reveals that kinship terms used in the Ayrim dialect, such as aba, eke, dede, yenge, etc., were used in the oldest monuments of the Azerbaijani language, particularly in the language of the "Book of Dede Korkut" epics, and are still preserved and utilized in this dialect today.
