    Abstract

The paper is dedicated to the manysided analysis of toponyms of Azerbaijan and Great Britain. Toponyms as a mirror reflect the history of the people, their traditions and customs, the replacements at different stages of history presenting a rich linguistic material. Structural-semantic analysis of toponyms of Azerbaijan and Great Britain give the possibility to divide them into three groups: simple, derived, complex. Among the complex ones prevail toponyms with geographical nomen.
