    Abstract

The I Turkological Congress was an important historical stage in terms of the systematic study of Turkic languages on scientific grounds and the discussion of problems of pan-Turkic linguistics. Within the framework of the Congress, the main issues related to the origin, historical development stages, dialectological features, phonetic, morphological and lexical structure of Turkic languages were brought to the agenda. In particular, the issues of forming a common terminological base, unification of writing systems, alphabet reforms and standardization of scientific and educational materials were widely discussed.
The Congress emphasized the importance of studying Turkic languages using the comparative-historical method, and the necessity of scientifically investigating mutual influences, language relations and regional differences within the language family was noted. At the same time, the preservation of the cultural heritage of the Turkic peoples, the collection of folklore and written monuments and their involvement in scientific circulation were assessed as one of the main problems of Turkological research. As a result, the First Turkological Congress made a significant contribution to the formation of methodological approaches in the study of Turkic languages, the institutional development of Turkological science, and the creation of a conceptual framework for future scientific research.
