    Abstract

The naming tradition, which is as old as the history of mankind, has been used to determine the names of villages and towns wherever it exists. The examination of toponyms, some of which are new and many of which have a history of a hundred or even a thousand years, is extremely important. Since a nation's toponyms live in a narrow region, the determination of microtoponyms that have been passed down from generation to generation by word of mouth is more useful in naming macrotoponyms that are open to external influences. Unfortunately, difficulties have arisen due to the rapid disappearance of microtoponyms used for
centuries, especially in the processes experienced in recent years, before and after the war. No one knows the microtoponyms of that region better than people who were born in any village and never left that place throughout their lives. The inclusion of microtoponyms, which consist of lexical units expressing art, profession, and occupation, in the research provides information about the history, culture, worldview, daily life, forgotten traditions, etc. of our people, and is formed as a result of the development of society in connection with socio-political and socio-economic processes. They are not local. They serve to guide professional interests. In other words, the word that shows the area of interest, character and type of people, tribe, generation, line, ethnic group is taken as the main sign and becomes relevant in their speech. In other words, it plays a big role in determining
ethnic perspectives. Some of these names are considered archaic in the vocabulary of our language. Such microtoponyms have been analyzed very little in our linguistics. In the article, microtoponyms consisting of lexical units expressing art, profession, occupation (Arabaçılar neighborhood, Demirciler mound, İlkhiçi gobüsü, Guşçular river) were systematically examined from a linguistic perspective and it was aimed to determine their roles in the lexical system.
