Regarding the point directly related to synesthetic perception, it should be noted that in fiction, especially in romantic discourse, the use of synesthetic perception features as a metaphorical representation mechanism is more prevalent in women. Specifically, linguists have also shown that synesthesia has a serious impact on the author's linguistic identity when expressing emotional psychophysiological states of individuals, as well as in the context of forming metaphorical transitions of a corresponding nature. In this context, it would be appropriate to recall the ideas of the prominent US psychologist and psycholinguist Charles Osgood. Thus, the scientist actually put forward that the processes associated with synesthesia are the basis of poetry and, in general, "the tendency to create metaphors that form the basis of fiction", the potential to create metaphors. C. Osgood also put forward that this ability, that is, the expression of impressions through images, in the form of a synthesis of information coming from different sensory organs, is an indirect distinctive feature of human intelligence. The article also includes the views of many authors on this issue.
