Plant names hold a special place in the shared vocabulary of these two languages and are important indicators of lexical parallelism between them. Many plant names are phonetically and semantically identical or similar in both languages. The aim of the article is to identify the common or differing features of these parallel plant names. Regional characteristics and contact with other languages (Arabic, Persian, Russian, etc.) have played an important role in the development of various naming conventions.
The scientific novelty of the research lies in the systematic comparison of plant names used in parallel in Azerbaijani and Turkish.
