TERMINOLOGY OF KORANIC EXPRESSIONS IN THE WORKS OF NASIMI
Keywords:
Quranic terms, Nasimi, quotations from the QuranAbstract
The language of the prominent representative of Azerbaijani Sufi literature Imadeddin Nasimi (14th century) largely consists of religious terms, which are also observed in the works of many representatives of Sufi literature. In such cases, a comparative study helps to identify terms that were generally accepted in the Middle Ages. During the study, we no ticed that some words and phrases quoted from the Koran and hadith in the language of thepoet were shortened, abbreviated, also had a changed grammatical form. For example, the word qalu in Arabic means "they said", but in the works of Nasimi this word used as the name of an event in the Koranic verse from which it is quoted, and is used in the cases of nouns, or can be used instead of one of the parts of a demonstrative phrase. The article classifies the process of quoting the Quran and Hadith in the Nasimi language, analyzes the grammatical or syntactic properties and semantics of the quoted terms and expressions, and makes comparisons with medieval written monuments. In the Nasimi language, the process of quoting the Quran and Hadith occurs as follows: 1) The term is preserved in its original lexical and grammatical form. This is consistent with the lexical method; 2) The original grammatical or syntactic feature of the expression is changed. In this case, the word can be a phrase in Arabic or even a sentence expressing a complete thought; 3) The verse or hadith is shortened and named. These words individually have no meaning. Only those familiar with the Quran know which verse is being discussed; 4) The resulting term acquires the
meaning of a reminder or symbolization of the existence of the verse, religious tradition or hadith that it originally expressed or referred to; 5) Quranic verses and hadiths are translat ed improvisedly; 6) In classical literature, along with the nominativization of terms, attribution is also observed.
