The article discusses the formation of adjectives and adverbs from verbs in modern Azerbaijani and English languages, and identifies common and distinctive features of word production in this area of two languages with different systems. Due to the fact that the Azerbaijani language is an agglutinative language in its grammatical structure, a certain number of derivative adjectives and adverbs are formed from verbs using word-forming suffixes. The English language is an analytical language in its morphological structure, and therefore adjectives and adverbs are formed from verbs not by morphological means, but by lexical and syntactic means. In both of the above-mentioned languages, the formation of derivative adjectives and adverbs is unproductive, and in the Azerbaijani and English languages, derivative verbs and nouns are formed from verbs most often and in the greatest number.
