THE PECULIARITES OF BORROWED TERMS IN THE ROMAN- GERMAN LANGUAGES (ON THE BASIS OF MATERIALS OF İTALIAN TERMS IN THE ENGLISH LANGUAGE)

Abstract

The article is dedicated to the research of Italian terms in the English language.
The author points out that the borrowing of these terms is connected with a number

of extralinguistic and intralinguistic factors and is a result of linguistic interferen-
cia. Sometimes in the borrowing of the “foreign” word a psycholinguistic aspect

plays a role, too. The assimilation of Italian terms by the English language has pos-
itive character, realizes the lexical integration and enriches the inner possibilities

of the English language.
