Abstract

This article examines the place of case category of the Azerbaijani and Arabic languages in the grammatical category
system. When we evaluate the state of case category within the Azerbaijani grammar, we consider this category to
be more accurate to characterize the specific grammatical category. Our research shows that syntactic positions of adjectives,
participles, numbers and some pronouns in the Azerbaijani language consist of being attributes ofnouns. Thus,
case category in our language must be considered a grammatical category belonging to nouns. It should also be noted
that the principle of being considered the category as a special grammar category in our language differs from that is in
The Arabic language. Some of our linguists consider the category as a category being a special grammatical category,
which is considered to be a unique feature of nouns. Based on this principle, we have characterized the state of case
category in the Arabic language as a general grammatical category. Unlike the Azerbaijani language, allnominal words
in the Arabic language can be declined in their syntactic positions.
