Abstract

The perfect poetic language of Imadaddin Nasimi, the great Azerbaijani poet and thinker, characterized by high artistic features, can be considered as a beginning of an exceptional stage in the history of the Azerbaijani-Turkic literaryartistic language. Azerbaijani-Turkic literary-artistic language, which has an ancient history and rich traditions, was
improved by Nasimi's native-language poetry and took a step to the peak of its development. In the poet's unique poems, highly literary-artistic language combines with an energetic nationwide spoken language and represents a unity.
The preference for native words, successful use of their meanings, and bringing for the first time them into the Azerbaijani-Turkic literary-artistic language are the main features of Nasimi's highly poetic language. Although some words,
used in the poet's ghazals and tuyughs written about 600 years ago, are archaic for modern Azerbaijani literary language, many of them are still understandable and fascinate the reader. The investigation of Nasimi's poems based on
human emotions shows that several ancient Turkic words specific to the poet's poetry were first introduced by the great
master of the word to the Azerbaijani-Turkic literary language and enriched it one more with several new words and
phrases.
