Abstract

This article is devoted to a comparative study of the lexical-semantic and grammatical features
of adjectives in German and Azerbaijani languages. In the studied languages, the adjective is the third
largest part of speech after the noun and the verb. As a result of a comparative study of adjectives in
both languages, both similarities and distinctive features of each language system were revealed.
Since a significant number of concepts expressed by nouns in the Azerbaijani language are expressed
in German by derivative adjectives, the number of adjectives in German is much larger. It should also
be emphasized that from a morphological point of view, the grammatical features of the adjective in
German are richer than in Azerbaijani.
