THE HISTORY OF THE PEOPLE IS IN THEIR NATIVE LANGUAGE

Abstract

In “Garabagh and Eastern Zangezur dialectological atlas of the Azerbaijani language” compiled
in four languages (Azerbaijani, Turkish, Russian, English) have been codified 692 settlements from
nearly a thousand populated areas embracing the Garabagh dialect and Eastern Zangezur subdialects.
The “Atlas” includes 278 maps, special comments on each of them, the programme used in compilation of the “Atlas”, the list of the investigated populated areas and informants and CD with informants’ voices and the photos took in the process of conversations during the expeditions and also the
photos reflecting the history of Garabagh and Eastern Zangezur, its ethnography, natural landscapes,
Armenian vandalism and falsification, the I and the II Garabagh wars, the President of the Republic of
Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev’s activity and a historical victory achieved under his leadership. In the “Atlas” dialectal peculiarities forming the isogloss are given by the help of conventional designations and
the areas of spreading have been determined.
