ABBREVIATIONS IN SCIENTIFIC STYLE DURING THE YEARS OF INDEPENDENCE

Abbreviations in a scientific style during the years of independence were studied in the article. It
is determined that when the author creates an abbreviation in a scientific text, its opening should be
given in parentheses for the first time. If abbreviations are used in scientific works and research texts,
it is considered necessary to provide them in the form of a separate list. Researches conducted on
scientific literature and dictionaries show that in a scientific style, it is based on the abbreviated version of frequently repeated term-word combinations in a number of scientific fields. This often appears as an author abbreviation. In our opinion, giving the same complex unit as an abbreviation in
different research works can be considered as passing approval of this abbreviation. This aspect confirms that abbreviations are not a new, different term from the original unit from which it was created,
and the abbreviation performs the function of a substitute in the scientific style.
