Abstract

Metaphor uses the possibilities of mind to convey human thought in the most beautiful and effective way. At that
time, this figure of thought, acting as a trop, not only does not violate the norm, but also creates an ideal norm. The
metaphor that presents the perfect model of human communication is the result of the evolution of cognition. The metaphor is just as rhetorical in its expressive features, beauty, charm and high eloquence, as cognitive in its precise expression of deep scientific, philosophical and cognitive ideas. Located at the crossroads of rhetorics and cognitive linguistics, the metaphor is an anthropocentric trop. Today, the fundamental linguistic paradigm does not accept the classical
differentiation between literal and figurative language. This clarifies many points. In our opinion, metaphorical language, which is traditionally considered figurative, is in fact the source of literal language. There is no language that can
express human perception based on truth as accurately as metaphor. Even the natural sciences, such as mathematics and
cybernetics, are dominated by high metaphorical cognition. Cognitive linguistics, which is claimed to have been founded by J. Lakoff and M. Johnson's Metaphors We Live by, did not come into being from a vacuum. In fact, cognition, an
integral part of human mind, has always existed with the rhetorics and has served the evolution of human being. The
study of metaphor at the crossroads of rhetoric and cognitive linguistics leads to a return to tradition in linguistics and
the identification of new perspectives.
