Abstract

The article is dedicated to the study of Mikail Bashtu's "Epic of Shan gizi". The article depicts that the "Epic of
Shan gizi" was first presented to the Azerbaijani scientific community by academician T. Hajiyev, who translated the
monument into Azerbaijani and conducted the research in the field of Turkic history, worldview and language. The article also discusses the scholar's comparative analysis with the "Book of Dede Gorgud", along with the new additions to
the comparison between "The Tale of Igor's Regiment" and "The Epic of Shan gizi" in the scientific literature. It is noted that T.Hajiyev defines the main directions of research of the Bulgarian monument not only as a linguist, but also as a
historian, ethnographer, and philosopher. The article emphasizes that the Bulgarian literary monument "Epic of Shan
gizi" is an all-Turkic fact.
