Abstract

Language is not just about grammar rules. It is a factor that transmits our culture and way of life from generation to
generation. The word, which is the basic unit of language, is the reflection in our language of the concepts in our
thinking. If there are things and concepts in our lives, then there are words. These words are not just a collection of
sounds. It is a construction that reflects the culture and traditions of the people who speak the language. The word is
closely related to culture. Although syntactically compound words in Azerbaijani and English have the same language
rules and construction, there are different nuances in their semantics, which are due to the fact that the English and
Azerbaijani peoples have different worldviews, customs and traditions.
