Abstract

"Jamshid and Khurshid" Masnavi thatnarrates about the love story of two protagonists, was written for the first
time in Iranian literature by Salman Savaji. According to Persian-language sources in Persian literature, in addition to
Salman Savaji, there has also been a poet named Farrukh also wrote a Masnavi of the same name. However, since a
copy of this work could not be found, this information has not yet been confirmed.
The author of the first “Jamshid and Khurshid” work in Turkish literature is Ahmadi. Other Turkish
poetsimpressed by Salman Savaji's work in Turkish literature who wrote the eponymous book "Jamshid and Khurshid"
were Cem Sultan, Abdi and Hubbi Ayşe. However, among these authors, copies of works of Hubby Aisha have not
come down to our days. Because the work deals with the love between two people, the protagonists are Jamshid and
Khurshid. The supporting characters of the work are the family of Mehrab, Jamshid and Khurshid, servants, assistants
and supernatural forces.
Although the first source of "Jamshid and Khurshid" masnavi was Persian literature, but this topic was more
appreciated, loved and addressed in Turkish literature. Being the oldest of the "Jamshid and Khurshid" Masnavis in
Turkish literature, Ahmadi's work can be considered as an important written monument for studying the linguistic
features of this period in Anatolia.
