Abstract

The article deals with the morphological features of the native language works of I.Nasimi, the great Azerbaijani
poet. Historical and comparative research is devoted to studying of possessive affixes in the language of the poet’s poems. It is known, that Nasimi had played an important role in the improving of XIII-XIV centuries poetry, at the same
time significantly enriched the vocabulary, revealed the cognitive potential and, in general, raised the scientific and
philosophical expressiveness of the Azerbaijani literary language to a high level. In this regard, the native language
works of the great poet distinguished by the national colour not only the vocabulary, but also the grammatical structure,
have always been considered relevant from the point of view of their study in various aspects of the Türkological science. Despite a large number of fundamental studies of the Nasimi language, there are practically no separate monographs devoted to a detailed analysis and study of the grammatical structure, especially the grammatical categories of
nouns. From this point of view, the studying of morphological categories of nouns, and first of all the possessive affixes
in the poet’s poems, is one of the most interesting areas of linguistics. In the research carried out based on the comparative historical method of the Nasimi works in the native language, some issues were identified that were consonant with
the problems of using possessive affixes in the modern Azerbaijani language. This fact once again demonstrates the
relevance of this topic for linguistics.
