Abstract

Since the 19th century, the division of Turkic languages according to various principles
by many Turkologists has become widespread. In addition to the presence of similar and
distinctive features between languages belonging to different Turkic peoples, the division
of one language into several dialects has led to different views on their classification. From
this point of view, different methods have been used in the classification of Turkiс languages and various results have been obtained. The article discusses the classification of
Turkic languages according to different principles and the place of the Karaite language in
these classifications. Given the large number of classifications in the study, only the most
consistent and partially scientifically accepted ideas were included in the study
