Abstract

Mahammad Amin Rasulzade is a genius, a wise socio-political and statesman who left
an indelible mark on the history of the Azerbaijani people. M.A. Rasulzade fought for
progress and the rise of the national language, which is one of the important factors in the
moral existence of the people, and as part of his socio-political activities, he delivered
numerous reports and articles on issues of the native language. The initiatives taken by the
intellectual genius regarding the extensive teaching his mother tongue in educational
institutions have given the necessary results and he has quite important work in this
direction. M.A. Rasulzade considered the addiction of the native language to other
languages as a serious threat to our national identity. The author rightly justified his opinion
in this way that killing a language means killing a nation. As long as the language destroys,
the nation will stop, if the language dies, the nation will be about to die. Along with
language, questions of the alphabet were given a wide place in the work of the genius.
Author was closely familiar with discussions about the alphabet in Azerbaijan, but he
considered the complete transition of Azerbaijan from the Arabic alphabet to the Latin
alphabet as a blow to the national existence of our people.
