THE ROLE OF THE COMPOUND WORDS IN THE WORD FORMATION OF THE AZERBAIJANI AND ITALIAN LANGUAGES

The article discusses vocabulary issues in the Azerbaijani and Italian languages. A brief
overview of word formation and its various types is given. Attention is drawn to the important role
of compound words in word formation. The article examines the types of compound words from a
comparative perspective. As a result of the study, conducted on the basis of the sources of both
languages, certain differences regarding complex words were revealed.
The comparative research of the compound words is very important from scientific point of
view. The compound words have an important role in enriching of the language. It is used widely
in different parts of speech in Italian and Azerbaijani languages.
