The article gives an insight into the issue of comparative typological analysis of the languages of
some Indian tribes of North America with the Altaic, in particular the Turkic languages, highlights the
main provisions put forward by different scientists at different times. The attention of linguists to the
problem is drawn, the position is put forward that this question remains open, requires scientific attention and a huge, capacious linguistic analysis to give an unambiguous answer to this question.
