Uzeyir Hajibeyli: Analysis of Ideological Approaches in the Context of National Enlightenment Activities and the Idea of Turkism

Abstract

In addition to fundamental contributions to the modernization of Azerbaijani musical culture at the beginning of the 20th century, Uzeyir Hajibeyli also had a significant impact on the social and intellectual environment of the period through his educational activities. The article analyzes his ideological views formed in the context of his national educational activities and the idea of Turkism, and examines the impact of the composer's musical creativity, publicistic activity, as well as educational initiatives on the processes of national selfawareness, cultural revival, and integration with the Turkic world. The research also provides a general overview of the political, cultural, and ideological conditions of the period in which Hajibeyli lived, and determines the scientific and historical context of his role in the spread of the idea of Turkism. This approach allows us to evaluate Uzeyir Hajibeyli's activities not only from the point of view of musical history, but also as an important stage in the process of national ideological development. The article is prepared on the basis of a historical-analytical approach, mainly referring to Uzeyir Hajibeyli's publicistic texts, musical works and archival materials.
