HISTORY OF AZERBAIJAN’S CASPIAN OIL PRODUCTION (1825-1949)

Abstract

The article is devoted to the history of the discovery of offshore oil fields, the first attempts to extract oil by artisanal methods in the Bibi-Heybat section of the sea and on Pirallahi Island in the 20-30s of the twentieth century, as well as the decisions of the Soviet government on the commissioning of offshore oil fields from 1944 to 1949. The author used factual materials and unpublished archival sources while writing the article.
