FORMATION AND DEVELOPMENT OF THE HISTORY OF SCIENCE AND SCIENCE OF SCIENCE IN AZERBAIJAN AS A SCIENTIFIC DISCIPLINE

Abstract

The history of science is a young science, which established as an independent branch of historical knowledge. An independent department of the history of science appeared for the first time in France in 1892. The accelerated development of the history of science and technology as an independent scientific discipline begins from the end of 90s of 19th century, which led to the middle of the 20th century to the transformation of this young science into one of the most important branches of historical knowledge. This article deals with an overview of the history of the founding of the Scientific Council at the Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan in the period of Soviet Union, the contribution of Azerbaijani and Russian scientists to this process is highlighted. In the middle of the twentieth century, the process of institutionalizing the history of science and science of science began in Azerbaijan. This process began with the establishment of the first research structures in these areas.
