General Characteristics of Iran’s Policy in the Post-Soviet Space

Abstract

The article discusses the main directions of the foreign policy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the modern era. The author examines the general geopolitical landscape around Iran and explains the basic principles of Tehran’s foreign policy towards the post-Soviet states. Special attention is paid to the changes that have taken place in recent Iranian relations with Russia and other post-Soviet countries.
