Abstract

Persian linguistics has a long history. In Persian linguistics studies, Azerbaijani scientists have played a great role, especially in the formation of many of its branches. In the 11th and 13th centuries, Qatran Tabrizi, Hubeysh Tiflisi, Hindushah Nakhchivani, Husameddin Khoyi, Muhammad bin Hin-dushah Nakhchivani, and other scholars contributed to the foundation and development of Persian linguistics with their explanatory, bilingual, and encyclopedic dictionaries, as well as grammatical notes.
In bringing these scientists and their works to public attention, orientalist scholars who con-ducted in-depth research covering a thousand-year period and published a monograph, prepared a scientific-critical text of two Persian-Turkish dictionaries from the 13th century, and published nu-merous articles on this topic, doctors in philology Jamila Sadigova and Tayyiba Alasgarova, have provided great services.
The article reviews the monographs, books, articles, and reports of these researchers on the study of the Persian language by medieval Azerbaijani scholars.
