Abstract

Abu Mansur al-Husaynibn Muhammad as-Saalibi (961-1038) was born in Nishapur. Here he received his early education, deeply learned Arabic and arabic literature. As- Sa'alibi visited many countries and cities of the Arabian Peninsula, Spain, Iran, Azerbaijan, Khorasan, Maurya, Khorezm, etc. He is the author made up of about 1021 four-volume work "Ghurarakhbar muluk al-furs va siyarihim" (Persian shahs and the selected information about their lives). In his work there is information about Azerbaijan during the reign of Sassanid, about Zoroas-ter, spreading of its education, about manichaeism and mazdakism, the war between Bahram Gur and Turkish Khakan in Azerbaijan territory, about the construction of cities and the revolt of Bah-ram Chubin in the territory of Azerbaijan, and the resistance movement headed by Rustam al-Azery against Arabs is scrutinized in this chapter.
