Mahsati Ganjavi and Nizami Ganjavi on the pages of the magazine “Azerbaijan Yurd Bilgisi”(“Bulletin of Azerbaijan”)

Abstract

This article reports a study of the Rasulzade Mehmet Ali Bey’sthoughts, the author of the journal “Azerbaijan Yurd Bilgisi” (1934, volume 3, NO 30,31,32), published in Turkey, concerning Azerbaijani classical poetess Mаhsаti Ganjаvi and poet Nizami Ganjаvi. In his article Rasulzade Mehmet Ali Bey, referring to various sources, notes that because of the lack of complete infor-mation about the life, personality, and even the name and pseudonym of Mahsati Ganjavi, known as а Master of Rubai, there are various, conflicting thoughts about her.The author claims that the name Mahsаti in real Makhsiti that means “Great Woman”.In the other article, Rasulzade Mehmet Ali Bey expressed his opinion on Nizami Ganjavi where the author gives a brief information about Ni-zami’s life and then concerns the issue of the poet’s nationality.
