Socio-political Articles in Shafiga Efendizade’s Publicistics

Abstract

The present article devoted to the Shafiga Efendizadeh, the enlightener woman who plays a hot role in Azerbaijani society and political life. She is the first female employee of the Parliament of the Republic of Azerbaijan, as well as the first female journalist in the South Caucasus. She was one of the most active women in the Republic. Although he did not receive a higher education, he was engaged in a very valuable career as a publicist and educator. At the same time, she worked as a shorthandist in the Republican Parliament and represented all Azerbaijani women. Commenting on all the events that took place in Azerbaijan in the early twentieth century, Shafiga khanum, try-ing to participate in the socio-political life of the society, did not forget to cooperate with the media to convey their views, suggestions and opinions to the people. Shafiga Efendizadeh, one of the first women journalists in Azerbaijan, made her first press appearance in “Shargi-Rus”.
