Abstract

Yusuf al-Sibai is one of the most famous representatives of Egyptian literature, whose works have always been in tune with the spirit of the times.
The writer’s works are characterized by the perception of the shades of the literary movement of the “New Wave” that appeared in Egyptian literature in the second half of the 20th century, a detailed reflection of the realities of society against the background of events in the country’s socio-political life, and the description of the moral and psychological aspects of images.
Due to Yusuf al-Sibai’s attention to new themes and ideas of global significance, his works are always relevant and have found recognition outside Egypt as well.
The article examines the work of Yusuf al-Sibai and extensively analyzes the manifestations in various aspects of hypocrisy in real Egyptian society, which are reflected in his works. As a result, it is concluded that, according to the Egyptian writer, expressed in all his works, wars and conflicts, humanitarian disasters, injustice, hunger and poverty, pain and tears are generated by hypocrisy.
