Abstract

As a result of the Ottoman Empire's orientation to the West, the first examples of modern sto-ry and novel genres emerged in the first half of the 19th century, as well as in other literary genres. Turkish novel overcame the existing obstacles and difficulties of the time and won the competition with other literary genres. It was formed as a genre in the Turkish cultural and literary environment and was able to create a wide readership. The process of acquaintance with modern novels in Turk-ish literature and the creation of novels in general has gone through four main stages:
1. Novels translated from European languages.
2. Novels created by imitation of European novels.
3. National and European model novels in terms of theme and style.
4. European model original Turkish novels.
In general, we are witnessing the successful achievement of the goals set in Turkey when studying the literature of the new era or the influence of Europe. So, I would say that the issues of mutual exchange, fusion, learning new things have been achieved. It is up to us, the readers, to un-derstand what social message the authors give to our readers in the language of literature, which is the most unique means of art.
