CHARACTERISTICS OF WOMEN'S IMAGES IN THE EPISTLE "KITABI-DADE GORGUD"

Abstract

The epic "Kitabi-Dade Gorgud" is an ancient literary monument of our people. This mon-ument provides rich information about the socio-political events of the period in which it was cre-ated, the social structure, people's way of life and thinking, family relations, the concept of hero-ism and love, and gender issues. The epic describes how the roles of women and men in the family and society were historically formed, and what position they had in the socio-cultural environment is of particular interest in this sense.
Studying the epic in its historical and cultural context shows that, along with the theme of heroism, the issue of gender is also expressed in artistic form in the epic. Respect for the mother, respect for women, the presentation of husband-wife, parent-child relationships are clearly reflect-ed in the epic. The activity of various female images in different epics and the position they occu-py in the public life of society are striking. In the epic, the issue of gender is presented as an inte-gral part of the system of national and moral values.
The article shows that the “Kitabi-Dade Gorgud” monument is an excellent source reflect-ing the ancient customs and traditions of the Oghuz-Turkic world and the system of national and spiritual values, and also conducts research on the position and role of women in society among the Oghuz people.
