    Abstract

The epic “The Book of Dede Korkut” is a rich source for the study of Turkic mythological beliefs. Although numerous studies have been conducted in this field, there are still characters in the epic that seem unwilling to “reveal their secrets.” Deli Domrul is one such character. Despite the various opinions expressed by scholars about him, it is generally believed that the mythopoetic semantics of this character have not yet been fully clarified. Different researchers have put forward diverse, and sometimes even contradictory, views. In this regard, the interpretations of Kamal Abdulla and Ramazan Gafarlı concerning Deli Domrul are of great importance for the future perspectives of Domrul studies.
