    Abstract

The paper provides a comparative semiotic analysis of the “Dede Gorgud”, focusing on the tale of Bamsı Beyrək within the theoretical frameworks of Umberto Eko and Alan Dundes. The aim is to reveal the dynamic semiotic energy and structural spiral of the epic. By merging Eko’s concepts of “Open Work”, “Model Reader”, and “Limits of Interpretation” with Dundes’s “seqment”, “perfor-mance”, and “narrative spiral”, the study formulates a synergic approach termed “semiotic synerget-ics.” Through an analysis of 120 narrative seqments, the Bamsı Beyrək episode is shown to function as an open, multi-layered, and self-regenerating meaning system, where structure and interpretation co-evolve.
