About the expressions “ag ayil” and “qara ayil” used in “Dade Gorgud Kitabi”

Abstract

The article provides information on the interpretation and meaning of a number of expressions
used in the language of “Kitabi-Dade Gorgud”. A comparative study is conducted on the
ways in which these expressions are used in Mongolian and Turkish. In “Dade Gorgud”, the place
where animals such as sheep, lambs, and rams are kept is mentioned as “ayıl”. The author notes
that this expression has also passed from Turkish to Mongolian as “ayil”.
